The Power Tap switch enables a switch between humbucking and single-coil performance, and also allows a blend of both, thereby significantly broadening the SR300E’s tonal range. The 3-band EQ works harmoniously with the coil tap switch, providing maximum control over a wide variety of professional bass tones. The Tap Mode (single coil) offers a dynamic, punchy sound with superior articulation. Series Mode (humbucking) provides a full, warm tone, and Power Tap Mode combines the clarity of the single coil with the humbucker's fat bottom end. The SR300E also features an Accu-cast B120 Bridge. Its extra-wide string slots can comfortably accommodate even the heaviest of gauges. Its innovative design ensures perfect directional uniformity by effectively "trapping" the saddles in the walls and channels of the bridge plate. The PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups, developed by Ibanez, are another noteworthy feature.
