We are excited to share an amazing event hosted by The Royal Conservatory of Music and Bösendorfer Canada. If you are a lover of pianos, art, or Oscar Peterson, you won't want to miss it!
Details
The Royal Conservatory of Music is presenting a three-day celebration to mark the 100th birthday of legendary Canadian jazz musician Oscar Peterson. To mark the occasion, Bösendorfer Canada will exhibit a selection of hand-crafted pianos, together for the first time, valued at over one million dollars. The series takes place October 23-25 at Koerner Hall in the heart of Toronto.
As part of the centennial celebration, Bösendorfer, Oscar Peterson’s preferred piano maker and official partner of the event, will showcase three limited-edition grand pianos in Koerner Hall’s reception area: Camellia, The Great Wave Off Kanagawa, and The Tree of Life. This rare showcase marks the first time these exquisite, handcrafted instruments will be displayed together, offering music and art lovers a truly unique experience.
The concert series promises a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy world-class performances, all in honour of a Canadian icon whose legacy continues to inspire generations. In addition to the concerts, the celebration will feature free masterclasses, a discussion panel, and more, offering audiences a deeper connection to Oscar Peterson’s legacy and the vibrant world of jazz and classical music.
